Independent Living Facilities 

Independent living facilities may initially sometimes have the look of an Assisted Living Facility with meals and housekeeping provided but are not an ideal placement for all seniors.  In these types of facilities, the senior needs to be able to still complete the basic care needs such as being able to bathe themselves, remember to take medication on time, and not be at a high risk of falling or wandering away from home.   

Independent Living facilities are a great step between a home setting and an Assisted Living Facility for individuals who just need basic housekeeping and meal assistance along with some activities to help keep their days full of engagement. 

For many of these individuals who might need just standby assistance, may hire their own care aid who can assist within the senior’s apartment to ensure safety during activities such as bathing or assistance with transportation to stores and or appointments.

Assisted Living Facilities to provide 24-hour a day around clock caregiving services, helping to ensure the safety of the residents they care for.  From bathing, dressing, meals, and medication assistance RCFE facilities are a safe alternative to living alone and for families facing safety issues with care.

Assisted Living Waiver Program

The Assisted Living Waiver Program is a Medi-Cal-funded program for low-income seniors and adults with disabilities.  If you or your loved one needs assistance to learn more about the Assisted Living Waiver Program (ALWP), A True Blessing Senior Services is passionate about the program and would like to have the opportunity to assist you. 

(Please Note that A True Blessing Senior Services at this time is not approved as a Care Coordination Agency with the Department of Health Care Services.  We will still assist and be your advocate during the application process and match you or your loved one with the CCA matching your needs or of your choice.)
